Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and machinery are in optimal working condition, contributing to the overall productivity of our operations.
Requirements:
- Experience with concrete mixers, rock haulers and tankers a must (bonus if you have front end loader and skid steer experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work, required
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
- Valid Driver License Required
Responsibilities:
- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Performs standard vehicle maintenance
- Performs standard component inspections and repairs
- Performs preventive maintenance
- Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replaces defective components as instructed
- Performs facility maintenance duties
- Interacts with drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Be able to utilize computer to document workorders
- Works in accordance with all federal/ provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
- Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to Service Island support
- Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles as well as plant equipment
- Perform service calls when needed and be able to get our drivers/trucks back to the plant safely
- Keep workspace and or shop neat safe and clean
Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mechanical repair.
- Previous experience in a mechanic role is preferred but not mandatory.
