Position Summary
The Commercial Operations Representative is responsible for supporting the daily scheduling, balancing, monitoring, and coordination of midstream operations across company-operated assets. This role serves as a key liaison between producers, pipeline operators, plant operations, marketing teams, accounting, and commercial development groups to ensure efficient system operations and contractual compliance.
The successful candidate will manage nominations, monitor system balances, coordinate operational activities, support month-end reporting, and provide critical operational and commercial support in a fast-paced environment.
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Work Schedule: Hybrid (In-office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; Remote Wednesday and Friday)
Travel: Up to 5%
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily scheduling activities for operated midstream assets
- Coordinate with producers to adjust nominations from wellhead receipt points and downstream residue, NGL, and crude oil markets
- Monitor and mitigate system imbalances across gathering, processing, and transportation systems
- Balance plant Operational Balancing Agreements (OBAs) and monitor shipper imbalances
- Monitor and balance NGL allocations on downstream pipelines
- Confirm daily pipeline nominations and transportation activities
- Monitor system performance to ensure operations remain within contractual obligations and operating constraints
- Coordinate with field operations personnel to implement set-point changes and optimize flow delivery
- Calculate contractual and actual plant shrink, fuel usage, and field fuel consumption
- Work closely with operations, production operators, working interest owners, and pipeline companies to resolve operational issues
- Communicate critical operational events and impacts to downstream marketing teams
- Coordinate activities impacting operations, including:
- New well connections
- Pipeline installations
- Facility outages
- Divestitures
- Processing elections
- Commercial development projects
- Maintain daily and monthly operational records for audit, reporting, and backup purposes
- Support billing, balancing, and reconciliation activities with accounting teams
- Prepare and distribute:
- Monthly customer reports
- Weekly customer reports
- Flow estimates and availability updates
- Actual versus forecast volume reports for management
- Maintain scheduling and operational systems on a daily basis
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers, operators, pipeline representatives, and industry partners
- Provide cross-functional support and cross-training to ensure coverage during vacations, weekends, and holidays
- Analyze plant operations and economics to provide recommendations regarding ethane recovery or rejection opportunities
- Participate in evening, weekend, holiday, and after-hours on-call support rotations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel

- Ability to remain available for after-hours communications and operational support when assigned on-call responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in natural gas, NGL, crude oil, or midstream scheduling
- Knowledge of gathering, processing, transportation, and balancing operations
- Experience working with producers, pipelines, marketers, and operational personnel
- Understanding of nomination processes, imbalance management, and commercial operations functions
- Experience supporting volume reporting, reconciliation, and accounting activities
