Asphalt Quality Control Technician

Job Description:

As part of the growing team, our current opening is for a laboratory Quality Control Technician. A Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring our hot mix asphalt, crushed stone, sand, and gravel complies with all specifications and is up to proper standards. This individual will report to the Quality Control Manager and is a fulltime position. This position is a great starting foundation for growth within our family of companies.

Tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Quality control testing for aggregate materials and hot mix asphalt.

Learning New York State and Massachusetts Department of Transportation material specifications as well as receiving applicable certifications.

Accurate reporting of all test results.

Maintaining the integrity of internal laboratory facilities.

Keeping work areas clean and safe.

Following all safety standards per company policies and state regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

Quality Control Technician Certifications from New York Construction Materials Association and Northeast Transportation Training and Certification Program; Employer will provide required training if needed.

Prior experience in the asphalt, concrete, and / or aggregates industry with a testing mindset and aptitude.

Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Email.

Teamwork attitude and willingness to learn.

Willing to work irregular hours based on customer’s needs including days, nights, and occasional weekends.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and work off the ground.

Currently possess a valid driver’s license and maintain reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
