Responsibilities
- Provide weekend care for animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning kennels, and monitoring health status
- Handle dogs and other pets with patience and confidence, ensuring proper restraint and safety protocols are followed
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and trimming as needed
- Support veterinary staff by observing animals during exams or treatments and assisting with basic procedures
- Maintain clean and organized kennel areas to promote hygiene and prevent the spread of illness
- Engage in pet training activities to promote good behavior and socialization
- Offer exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and care routines
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet grooming setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills
- Experience with veterinary procedures or as a veterinary technician/assistant is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or assist with large animals
- Strong animal restraint skills to ensure safety during handling or medical procedures
- Excellent communication skills combined with a friendly, caring attitude toward pets and clients
- Basic pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care experience is a plus
- Valid knowledge of animal behavior, safety protocols, and customer service standards
