Order Management Specialist
Department: Supply Chain / Customer Operations
Location: Apex, NC
Employment Type: Contract (3 to 6 months)
Compensation: $65,000 to $72,000
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Vendor Scheduler to manage full cycle order processing and support day to day customer and logistics operations. This role is responsible for receiving orders, entering and confirming them in SAP, monitoring delivery timelines, and communicating proactively with both internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate brings strong SAP skills, understands order flow from entry through delivery, and thrives in a fast paced environment where accuracy and communication are critical.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive and process customer orders via email and phone
• Enter, confirm, and update orders in SAP including creating sales orders
• Utilize SAP transaction codes including MB04 for order and material tracking
• Monitor delivery status and ensure on time shipment
• Communicate material shortages internally and externally
• Provide regular updates to customers regarding order status, delays, or changes
• Support logistics follow up and shipment tracking
• Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the order cycle
• Collaborate with internal teams including purchasing, warehouse, and planning
• Perform data review and reporting using Excel including pivot tables and lookups
• Manage priorities and follow through on actions independently
• Support a team environment with a positive, professional, and solution focused approach
Qualifications
• Previous experience in order entry, customer service, supply chain, or logistics
• SAP experience required, including creation and management of sales orders
• Strong understanding of order flow, shipping coordination, and material status
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and lookup formulas
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution oriented under pressure
• Self starter with strong follow through and attention to detail
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
