About the Role & Opportunity
The Executive Housekeeper at Troutbeck oversees the housekeeping department?s style and standards, including guest rooms, public areas, pool, and wellness spaces ? all to exceed guest expectations for cleanliness, presentation, and organization.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive hotel experience and a keen eye for detail, leading a team of hospitality professionals dedicated to creating and maintaining an exceptional guest experience throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all guest rooms and property spaces are maintained to a 5-star/5-diamond standard of cleanliness, presentation, and functionality.
- Anticipate and fulfill the special needs of VIP guests.
- Train, mentor, and provide ongoing feedback to team members to enhance performance and service quality.
- Foster a positive and proactive team culture that values continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Maintain efficient operating and cost-control processes to maximize productivity and manage expenses.
- Oversee inventory levels and control costs for supplies and labor.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas regularly to ensure furnishings, linens, and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and fully operational.
- Manage housekeeping equipment inventories and ensure all items are properly maintained.
- Attend all required meetings and serve as an ambassador and representative of Troutbeck on the property and in the community.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by senior management or ownership.
Requirements
- Education/Experience:
- Hospitality certification or equivalent experience with a proven track record in directing housekeeping operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of hospitality experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong leadership, training, and team-building abilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of labor management scheduling systems.
- Familiarity with SDS, material safety, fabrics, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with Opera or similar property management systems.
- Basic management skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, and development.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, and stretch for long periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to cleaning agents and caustic chemicals.
