About the role:
Trossen Robotics is hiring a Robot Technician Intern who will work closely with our robot learning and engineering teams to support the testing, operation, and demonstration of robotic systems used for robot learning research and physical AI development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with robot learning experiments, including helping conduct policy training runs and evaluating model performance on hardware.
- Assemble, configure, and test robotic systems to verify hardware functionality and software integration.
- Operate robots to collect demonstration datasets used for robot learning research, following guides for task setup, recording, and data quality checks.
- Run and validate software pipelines end-to-end, including data ingestion, processing, and model deployment steps.
- Assist in preparing and executing live and recorded product demonstrations, including hardware setup, environment staging, and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to internal and public documentation for assembly procedures, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and data collection workflows.
- Support the broader engineering team with day-to-day operations as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu) and comfort working in a terminal environment.
- Basic programming ability in Python or C .
- Comfortable working hands-on with hardware: soldering, wiring, mechanical assembly, and basic use of hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures precisely.
- Clear written communication skills for producing documentation.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently once given direction.
Nice-to-haves:
- Previous experience with real robotic systems.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and version control workflows.
- Experience with robot learning frameworks like LeRobot or similar, and policy deployment on physical hardware.
- Experience contributing to technical writing, tutorials, or video content.
