Position Overview:
The Account Receivable Analyst is responsible for a range of AR functions and support. This will include, but not limited to; account reconciliations, cash applications, resolving invoice issues, follow-up on customer inquiries and disputes, detailed analysis/metrics, communicate cross-functionally with technology, reporting, and relationship groups. To be successful in this position this person should have a strong foundation and experience working with large volumes of data within a receivables department. In addition, this position requires a great attention to detail, ability to deliver results under deadlines, extensive research, ability to work independently, be a team player, actively solving problems, adapting to constant change and a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Daily reconciliation and maintenance of the relationship of assigned customers.
- Review billing completed by the shipping department to ensure that all invoices are accurate.
- Process central billing invoices and credit memos.
- Process all transactions to close central billing at month end.
- Research and interact with internal and external groups regarding customer activity.
- Process freezer rental invoices.
- Prepare weekly and monthly Aging Reports/Analysis and provide status updates for assigned customers.
- Calculate broker commissions.
- Book allowance for doubtful entry for month end.
- Serves as backup in entering/applying cash to open invoices.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures concerning confidential information including but not limited to internal use and restricted information, including Protected Customer Information (PCI)
- Adhere to all Company Financial Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Administer duties as defined by Tropicale Foods performance review plan within the required deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor; ideal candidate will have EDI, Retail Link and Central Billing experience is a plus.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years experience in accounting and/or financial reporting experience. A degree is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills required to handle internal/external customer needs.
- Excellent telephone skills, strong problem-solving ability.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, Ten key by touch and Quick Books system knowledge a plus.
- Excellent organizational, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Great attention to detail and an exceptional multi-taker a must.
- Heavy Reconciliation skills and bilingual- Spanish is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
Five to ten years hands-on experience in Accounting or related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration a plus.
Food Safety & Quality Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all Food Safety/Quality SOP’s
- Accurately completes require Food Safety & Quality Records
- Communicates any known or suspected Food Safety/ Quality issues to the Q.A Manager and Department Manager.
- Attends all Food Safety/Quality training sessions.

Work Environment:
Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment as part of the job requirements, employee may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperature (-20 degrees) at times. Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility. Schedule may include weekends.
