BallenIsles Country Club is excited to announce this unique opportunity for a personable and organized Retail Associate to join our Racquets Team. This individual will serve as the front-line representative of the Racquets Shop, providing exceptional customer service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the racquets’ facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet members and guests in a courteous, professional manner.
• Assist members and guests with product selection (racquets, paddles, apparel, accessories).
• Operate the POS system for sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Answer phone calls and respond to member inquiries.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the shop as determined by management.
• Schedule court reservations for tennis and pickleball play, including lessons, clinics, and special events, either in person or over the phone.
• Assist management with rotating stock and creating new and visually appealing displays.
• Restock merchandise as needed.
• Assist with general cleaning of the shop.
• Assist management with monthly physical inventory.
• Provide members and guests with demo racquets and paddles as requested and follow up on outstanding equipment as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge of current merchandise and promotions, including sales and trunk shows.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Frequently stands and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms, talks, and hears.
• Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
None required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY PREFERENCES:
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., the associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking members, co-workers, and the manuals for the procedures the associates may use are in English)
• Interest or knowledge of the game of tennis and pickleball is a plus.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer and POS system skills.
