BallenIsles Country Club is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a personable and organized Retail Associate to join our Racquets Team. This individual will serve as the front-line representative of the Racquets Shop, providing exceptional customer service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the facility.
Qualified candidates should have a general knowledge of tennis and pickleball, including related terminology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOBK KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY PREFERENCES:
** Must be available to work weekends, and two additional weekdays.
COMPENSATION:
$ 16 - $18 per hour (Depending on Experience)

- Greet members and guests in a courteous, professional manner.
- Assist members and guests with product selection (racquets, paddles, apparel, accessories).
- Operate the POS system for sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Answer phone calls and respond to member inquiries.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the shop as determined by management.
- Schedule court reservations for tennis and pickleball, including lessons, clinics, and special events — both in person and over the phone.
- Assist management with rotating stock and creating visually appealing displays.
- Restock merchandise as needed.
- Help with general cleaning and tidiness of the shop.
- Assist management with monthly physical inventory.
- Provide members and guests with demo racquets and paddles upon request, and follow up on outstanding equipment.
- Stay informed about current merchandise, sales, and promotional events (e.g., trunk shows).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Incorporate safe work practices into daily performance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently stands, talks, hears, and uses hands to handle merchandise.
- Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, and kneels.
- Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

JOBK KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY PREFERENCES:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform job duties effectively (e.g., to communicate with members, co-workers, and to understand procedures/manuals written in English).
- Interest in or knowledge of tennis and pickleball.
- Retail sales experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
