Role: Vegetation Management Database Developer/Analyst

Summary: The client is seeking a Vegetation Management Database Developer/Analyst to design, build, and implement a centralized Vegetation Management Database (VMD) on Microsoft SQL Server. The solution will integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, support reporting, analytics, forecasting, and provide a secure, scalable data platform for vegetation management operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead discovery sessions, data assessments, and requirement gathering.
- Design logical and physical SQL Server data models and architecture.
- Build ETL processes and integrate data from GIS/ESRI, SAP, OMS, spreadsheets, and other enterprise systems.
- Develop dashboards, KPI scorecards, reporting, and Python-based forecasting models.
- Implement data governance, role-based security, audit trails, and validation controls.
- Support testing, deployment, documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, GIS teams, and SMUD IT throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Management.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, data modeling, database design, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing enterprise data platforms and ETL/data integration solutions.
- Experience integrating data with GIS/ESRI, SAP, OMS, and other enterprise applications.
- Experience developing dashboards, analytics, and forecasting solutions using Python.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
