What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Triumph Motorcycles America Ltd.?
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As an experienced member of the Accounting team, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day functions as well as the update/streamlining of all accounting procedures for Triumph Motorcycles America. This position will be engaged with all departments ensuring proper communications are in place to provide necessary data as required to manage the business. This position will provide accurate financial and managerial information for the internal management of the business and external reporting requirements. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will lead the Accounting team of 4 including 2 Staff Accountants and 2 Accounting Associates, with a goal of advancing to Financial Controller in 3 years.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage annual budget preparation
- Manage month-end and year-end closing process
- Manage Internal Reporting to our UK Parent
- Manage third-party audits
- Oversee US Sales Tax and Canadian GST tax filing to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Oversee cash management including bank account reconciliations and cash forecast
- Oversee Management Intercompany account
- Review general ledger accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to prepare adjusting journal entries as part of the month-end close process
- Perform higher end Account Reconciliations including finished inventories
- Perform Detailed calculation of Dealer bonus program
- Calculate and post more complex monthly accruals
- Managing internal controls evaluations
- Other tasks as assigned by the CFO
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge:
- Clear understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience with accounting systems
- Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in managing a team
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

- Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
- 3-5 years’ experience in this field
TRAINING
- Internal systems training (Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Infor / SUN, AS400, etc.)
- Banking website and processes
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- This position is based out of our Atlanta office
- This job will require more than a traditional 40 hours per week, including some requirements on weekends, which can be done remotely
- Ability to perform basic job duties in an office setting
- Ability to lift 10 lbs.
