Role Description The Collections Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial accounts to recover outstanding balances in a professional and compliant manner. Day-to-day responsibilities include contacting merchants by phone, email, and mail, negotiating payment arrangements, documenting all communications and agreements in the system, and following up on past-due accounts according to established timelines. The role involves reviewing account histories, analyzing payment trends, and collaborating with internal team members and, when necessary, external legal partners to support recovery strategies. The Collections Specialist will also generate status updates, maintain accurate records for reporting, and adhere to all regulatory and company guidelines, including Triton Recovery Group’s rehabilitation-focused collection approach.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Debt Collection and Cash Collection, with experience managing multiple accounts and meeting recovery targets.
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations in a calm, respectful, and solution-oriented manner.
- Basic understanding of Finance and accounts receivable processes to analyze account status and payment options.
- Proficiency with collection software, CRM systems, and general office applications (e.g., MS Office or similar tools).
