Position Summary:
The Permit Manager oversees the entire permitting process for construction, development, or operational projects across multiple programs and markets. This leadership role ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, manages workflows, supervises permit staff, coordinates with permitting agencies, and resolves permitting-related issues to keep projects on schedule. The Permit Manager plays a vital role in facilitating the timely and compliant acquisition and closeout of permits, supporting operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the work of permit specialists and other staff to ensure timely, accurate processing of permit applications.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
- Allocate resources and monitor workloads to maintain efficiency across multiple projects and markets.
- Manage the full lifecycle of permit applications, from initial submission to final approval and closeout.
- Enter and maintain accurate permit data in SiteTracker and other internal platforms.
- Monitor permit progress, update statuses, and follow up with agencies to resolve bottlenecks or delays.
- Submit permit applications, supporting documents, and designs to jurisdictions (in person or online) as needed.
- Ensure proper closeout of permits and maintain organized documentation for audits and reporting.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, state, and federal codes and permitting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Compliance & Regulatory department to gather required documents for permit submissions.
- Keep current on jurisdiction-specific requirements and update internal platforms accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal plan checkers and permitting staff.
- Act as the primary point of contact for communications and negotiations with jurisdictions.
- Attend meetings with agencies to represent the company’s interests and resolve concerns.
- Provide regular status updates to Project Managers and stakeholders on permit progress.
- Document communications with jurisdictions in TriStruX’s platforms to maintain transparency and accountability.
- Address applicant or internal team inquiries clearly and professionally.
- Identify and resolve conflicts between permitting requirements and project needs.
- Facilitate solutions that maintain compliance while minimizing project delays and costs.
- Prepare and present progress reports and key metrics related to permit processing and team performance.
- Analyze permitting data to identify trends, gaps, or opportunities for process improvement.
- Implement solutions that streamline workflows and reduce turnaround times and costs.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as required to support the permitting function and overall project success.
- Deep understanding of permitting processes, jurisdictional codes, and best practices in construction, telecom, or infrastructure.
- 3 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or project management, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with agencies, internal teams, and external partners.
- Skilled at identifying and resolving permitting and compliance issues with a detail-oriented, problem-solving approach.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain clear, accurate records.
- Proficiency with permitting databases, SiteTracker (or similar project management/tracking software), and document management systems.
- General computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in construction management, planning, public administration, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
