Position Summary:
The Fiber/Civil Sr. Construction Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all phases related to the construction, installation, and integration of fiber huts and related network infrastructure. This individual will work closely with internal departments, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with TSX standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of civil fiber construction projects, including site acquisition, permitting, civil work, electrical installation, equipment integration, and final commissioning.
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure design accuracy and project alignment with TSX specifications.
Manage vendors, subcontractors, and internal field crews to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are maintained.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports; track progress against deliverables.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities, enforce safety compliance, and verify quality control.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders in a timely manner.
Oversee material procurement, logistics, and inventory management for assigned projects.
Ensure all work meets applicable safety regulations, local codes, and TSX’s quality and operational standards.
Collaborate with local authorities, utility companies, and clients to maintain seamless project execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
3–5+ years of experience managing telecommunications or infrastructure construction projects, preferably within fiber or OSP environments.
Strong understanding of fiber optic systems, power infrastructure, HVAC, grounding, and shelter installation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of permitting, compliance, and utility coordination processes.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience managing OSP or FTTH network buildouts.
Prior experience working with shelter-based telecommunications infrastructure.
