What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health Clinic position at TriState Health?
Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health MA assists physicians and other clinicians or therapists in the coordination of patient care for new and established patients. Responsibilities include patient flow management, documentation, as well as occasional vitals. The MA will act as a liaison between providers and patients. MA duties may include both front and back office.
Education and Training:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent is required.
Licensures/ Certifications:
- Washington State Medical Assistant - Certified.
- Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR, certification card on hire or within orientation period.
Experience:
- The candidate must have minimum of one year of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility; behavioral health setting is preferred.
- Must have a pleasant personality and experience dealing with the public and patients with special needs.
- Ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude and ability to organize information for quick retrieval is required.
- Preference with experience in deescalating patients in crisis.
Skills and Abilities:
- Computer skills, medical terminology, and experience with office assessments necessary.
