Warehouse ManagerA company in Baltimore is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their team. This position is responsible for all operations of the Warehouse & Shipping Department including the Packaging Department. This person manages approximately employees 10 hourly employees within a union setting. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3 pm; and the salary ranges from $60-80k, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities :Maintaining a safe, orderly and productive warehouse.Ensure on-time, accurate and cost-effective shipping.Manage, schedule and train staff.Optimize process and technologies.Drive continuous improvement and adopt new technologies.Maintain department training checklists, job descriptions and work instructions.Direct and provide performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports and other key staff.Create an environment which supports the ongoing training and development of all staff.Communicate departmental and organizational objectives and priorities regularly and effectively to the staff via 1:1, regular posted communication, and KPI’sContinuously review and adapt organization design, training levels, and schedules to maximize performance of the team and encourage individual development.Recommend changes in systems and/or procedures to reduce shipping error rate and improve inventory accuracy, taking ownership of determining root cause solutions and driving them to completion.Train, lead, support and manage teams on our pack/ship lines including Customer Outbound and Outside Services.Prepare pick lists, pack, and ship parcel and LTL orders accurately using Shipping SystemsSafely operate all equipment including pallet wrap equipment, forklifts, and walkies.Provide freight quotes for internal associates and external customers as needed.Prepare Documents and Commercial Invoices for Export shipments as needed.Process RMA dispositions and closeouts.Lead execution of cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy, documenting root causes on variances. Make recommendations on improvements.Drive safety culture with pro-active hazard identificationTake personal responsibility for keeping yourself, co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections, corrective actions and safety observations.Qualifications:AS degree in Business or Technical discipline or Five (5) years of related job experience.Experience using ERP systems and understanding of shipping, warehouse and material management transactions.Demonstrated experience developing and improving processes.Proven track record of leading successful teams focused on operational excellence.Expertise in shipping and warehouse operations.Results orientation; high levels of personal initiative, energy, and ownershipStrong team leadership and team facilitation skills; ability to work well across teams.Strong service ethic; understands and embraces service relationship with internal and external customers; highly collaborative work style.Strong project management skills.Demonstrated ability to develop creative business solutions, good judgment and decision-making ability.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
