Senior Accountant
A company in Hanover, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their corporate Accounting team. This will be a hybrid role with 2 days in office and 3 days remote. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in construction accounting. Salary range is $85-95k, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting activities for designated projects including job cost data capture, billings, and sales agreements/contracts
- Ensure costs are recorded in the correct weekly period and revenue recognition is in accordance with IFRS15
- Ensure project accounting is accurate, compare monthly forecasts, and investigate variances to budget
- Analyze and investigate variances to prior month of indirect job costs, shop costs, equipment costs, and general and administrative costs
- Prepare accounting entries and maintain the accounting records in accordance with policies and controls
- Assist with the corporate monthly close process
- Provide support and justification for audit requests
- Participate in ad hoc project analysis as necessary
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience in accounting, construction required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- Experience with application of accounting policies and account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills including experience with formulas (VLOOKUP) and pivot tables
- Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing one to communicate with colleagues of all levels
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
