What You'll Do
- Lead municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction
- Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Oversee roadway, utility, drainage, water, and wastewater improvement projects
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering staff
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and project engineers
- Conduct project reviews and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, public works departments, and stakeholders
- Prepare project updates and communicate progress to clients
- Support construction activities through site visits and field oversight
- Assist in developing and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 5 years of municipal engineering experience, 10 years preferred
- Experience managing or leading civil engineering projects
- Strong background in both design engineering and construction engineering
- Experience with municipal infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of publicly funded projects and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) projects
