Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Participate in clinical research projects as needed to advance knowledge in the field of psychiatry.
- Stay current with developments in psychiatric nursing and mental health care practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, IntakeQ or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in acute care settings including ICU, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine.
- Proficient with behavioral health practices and psychopharmacology.
- Background in geriatrics, pediatrics, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and documentation standards.
- Experience administering injections, IV infusions, phlebotomy, and performing physical examinations.
- Understanding of case management principles and discharge planning processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while demonstrating strong communication skills.
