Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), welding to join various metals with precision.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and sheet metal equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools; perform basic math calculations for dimensions and tolerances.
- Fabricate components from sheet metal, pipe threading, ductwork, and mechanical assemblies following ASME codes & standards.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly tasks on construction sites or manufacturing floors.
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols; inspect completed work for quality assurance; troubleshoot fabrication issues as needed.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety practices in industrial environments.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, and plasma cutting techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently; familiarity with schematics is essential.
- Experience with fabrication processes including sheet metal work, pipe threading, assembly, and ductwork fabrication.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems such as rigging, machining, soldering, press brake operation, and use of hand tools & power tools.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience using calipers and micrometers is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; experience with machining or plasma cutting is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team on complex projects.
