What are the responsibilities and job description for the Access Control / Security Systems Technician position at TRIPhase Technologies?
We are currently seeking an experienced Low Voltage AV - Access Control / Security Installation Technician. In this position you will install, service, and maintain audio/visual and electronic security systems including access control, CCTV, and related technologies. This is a hands-on technical role working in residential and/or commercial environments. Minimum 1 year of experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the installation, set-up, and maintenance of security systems and related equipment including:
- Audio/Visual systems (TVs, speakers, control systems)
- Access control systems (card readers, keypads, mag locks, strikes)
- CCTV and surveillance systems
- Structured cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, etc.)
- Ability to follow blueprints of electrical system layouts
- Responds to a variety of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and after-hours calls to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of system issues
- Handle necessary records for notification of emergency calls
- Assist or perform system programming, thorough test of the alarm system, and customer training in the use of all system functions
- Run all types of wire and cable through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets and position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping
- Test and repair circuits and sensors
- Installation and configuration of hard wired and wireless networks and all associate components (Networking/IT)
- Ensure installations meet company standards, codes, and client expectations
- Coordinate with project managers, builders, and other trades on jobsites
- Preserve customer and client confidentiality

- Full-Time Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:30AM – 4:30PM on average

- Ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere
- Physically be able to meet requirements of the job which include carrying items of at least 50 pounds unassisted, standing on feet for up to 8 hrs. a day, bending down frequently, comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in construction environments
- Flexibility to work outside of regularly scheduled hours - on call rotation is required in this position.
- Willingness to travel as required (approximately 4-6 times a year)
- Possess an Associate’s degree in a related field or have equivalent industry work experience (additional certifications will be taken into consideration)
