Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical‑Surgical assignment in Machias, Maine. The RN will deliver safe, effective, and high‑quality patient‑ and family‑centered care in accordance with facility policies and Maine State nursing standards. This is an excellent opportunity for newer nurses or those looking to strengthen their Med‑Surg experience in a supportive clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical‑surgical patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes or emergencies
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Document patient care accurately and timely using the Cerner EMR
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and care team members
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory standards
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine or compact‑eligible)
- Less than 1 year of nursing experience accepted
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Basic computer skills and EMR experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations
