Position Description: The Payroll Specialist performs payroll, accounting, and administrative duties to support the team including processing payroll, setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, creating and reviewing audit reports, and resolving any issues that may arise. Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software Experience with Union processing and reporting preferred Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive payroll records Calculate garnishments which include child support, tax levies, student loans, writ of garnishments, etc. Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records Prepare periodic reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions Investigate and correct any payroll discrepancies and errors Address employees pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information Reviews and immediately respond (within 24 hours of receipt) to all cases assigned in Salesforce. Immediately responds (within 24 hours of receipt) to all client inquiries. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Payroll Specialist - Requirements include but are not limited to: High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years Payroll experience Experience in PEO (Professional Employer Organization) preferred PRISM software experience preferred (but not required) Fluent in English and Spanish preferred (bilingual not required) Effective communication, both verbal and written Attention to detail Highly organized Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills Time management Ability to effectively multi-task Interpersonal skills Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulation and requirements. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. General knowledge of Internet navigation and research, email, fax transmissions, phone communication, and copy equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
