Overview (Scope of Role)

Trinseo is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Treasurer reporting to the SVP Corporate Development, Investor Relations & Treasury based in Wayne (PA). This individual will be responsible for global cash forecasting, liquidity management, covenant compliance, managing Trinseo’s hedging programs, and working closely with the Treasurer and senior management on financings.

Responsibilities

Cash Forecasting & Liquidity Planning

• Lead short- and long-term global cash forecasting processes
• Monitor and optimize global liquidity positions
• Interface with FP&A and business units to align forecasts with operating realities

Financial Risk Management (FX, Interest Rates, Utilities)

• Expand and manage the global Hedge  programs across the different categories including FX, Interest Rates and Utilities.
• Identify exposures and recommend appropriate hedging strategies
• Execute hedge transactions via 360t, Bloomberg or the phone and ensure compliance with policy
• Monitor hedge effectiveness and provide reporting to senior management

Treasury Operations & Controls

• Manage banking relationships and ensure optimal account structures
• Review and improve treasury policies, processes, and controls
• Support cash pooling and in-house banking operations including intercompany funding strategies.
• Manage Treasury Accounting Processes for Treasury Instruments in the Treasury Management System IT2
• Assist with compliance, KYC, and internal/external audit requests

Leadership & Strategic Support

• Act as a strategic business partner across functions and geographies
• Mentor junior treasury staff based in Ireland, Asia and the US
• Contribute to broader finance initiatives including M&A, working capital, and capital structure planning
• Serve as the primary deputy for the SVP Treasurer
• The Assistant Treasurer will manage the Global Treasury team (direct and indirect combined)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
• 10 years of treasury or corporate finance experience in a multinational environment
• Deep expertise in cash forecasting and foreign exchange risk management
• Proficiency with treasury management systems (e.g. IT2, S4 Hanna) and Information Systems such as Bloomberg
• Financial modeling
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated leadership potential and readiness for a future Treasurer role
