What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair residential solar systems.
- Perform maintenance and service on solar equipment and components.
- Install and repair inverter communication systems (cell cards, LAN, hardline connections).
- Respond to service calls and adjust schedules as needed for urgent issues.
- Manage daily appointments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate with homeowners professionally and clearly about system performance and repairs.
- Document all service work with photos, notes, and system updates.
- Coordinate warranty claims and equipment replacements with manufacturers.
- Follow all safety procedures while working on rooftops and with electrical systems.
- Electrical testing tools (multimeters, etc.)
- Solar inverters and monitoring systems
- Hand and power tools
- Ladders, fall protection, and rooftop safety equipment
- Service vehicles and diagnostic equipment
- Start your day reviewing your service schedule
- Travel to customer homes to diagnose and resolve solar system issues
- Perform repairs, replacements, or system updates
- Communicate findings and next steps with homeowners
- Document work and close out service tickets before heading to your next stop
- 2 years of experience in solar, electrical, HVAC, telecom, or technical field work
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read diagrams, plans, and technical specifications
- Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
- Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
