This is a hands-on field role where you'll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure systems operate at peak performance. If you enjoy problem-solving, working independently, and delivering great customer experiences, this is the role for you.
No solar experience required — electrical, HVAC, telecom, or technical experience welcome. Training provided.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair residential solar systems.
- Perform maintenance and corrective service on solar equipment.
- Install and repair inverter communication systems (cell cards, LAN, hardline connections).
- Respond to service calls and adjust schedules for urgent issues.
- Manage daily appointments to maximize efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with homeowners about system performance and repairs.
- Document work with photos, notes, and system updates.
- Coordinate warranty claims and equipment replacements with manufacturers.
- Follow all safety procedures while working on rooftops and electrical systems.
Equipment You'll Use
- Electrical testing tools (multimeters, etc.)
- Solar inverters and monitoring systems
- Hand and power tools
- Ladders, fall protection, and rooftop safety equipment
- Service vehicles and diagnostic tools
A Typical Day
- Review your service schedule and plan your route
- Travel to customer homes to diagnose and fix system issues
- Perform repairs, replacements, or system updates
- Communicate findings and next steps with homeowners
- Document work and close out service tickets
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of experience in solar, electrical, HVAC, telecom, or technical field work
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read diagrams, plans, and technical specs
- Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
- Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
