Position Summary
Trinity School is accepting applications for substitute teacher positions for the 2025–2026 school year in Primary and Middle School divisions. Substitute teachers are responsible for delivering instruction in the absence of the lead classroom teacher and are expected to uphold a professional and positive attitude. Assignments are offered on an as-needed basis to cover teacher absences or temporary vacancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the lead teacher or Division Director.
- Ensure students complete assigned work and stay on task.
- Use strategies to motivate, challenge, and engage students of diverse learning levels.
- Integrate technology effectively to enhance instruction.
- Actively supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess.
- Provide a summary of the day’s activities and student progress for the returning teacher.
- Collaborate positively with fellow teachers, staff, and administrators.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; minimum of 60 college credits completed. Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain a structured, positive classroom environment.
- Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude when engaging with students and colleagues.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Flexibility to meet shifting responsibilities and student needs.
Compensation and Benefits
Substitute teachers are compensated at a rate of $135 per day. These positions are temporary and do not include benefits. Assignments may range from single-day coverage to extended placements. Employment at Trinity School is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Justice Information Services background check and an employment history review by the Maryland State Department of Education, as required by the State of Maryland.
