What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boys Varsity Assistant Coach: Basketball (early November 2025 – mid-February 2026) position at Trinity School?
Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a part-time Boys Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach for the 2025-2026 winter season. This part-time, seasonal, stipended position begins in early November and ends in mid-February, although planning and communication outside of the season is required. The season includes a Thanksgiving break, a Winter break, and several other holidays.
Specific qualifications include significant experience participating in and/or coaching competitive basketball. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and collegiate basketball playing experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will embrace the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting; have strong organizational skills; embrace and uphold team values (e.g., positive sportsmanship, character, compassion, integrity); have experience in teaching basketball concepts at intermediate to advanced levels; have experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents; and be able to attend practices and games.
Practices occur on weekdays with times varying between 3:30 and 6:30 PM. There are approximately 16-20 meets which may last beyond 6:30 PM.
