What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Toddler Teacher position at Trinity Lutheran Church Preschool?
Our Toddler Lead Teacher are responsible for planning lessons (curriculum provided), good classroom management, and willingness to be flexible when needed. We are looking for a self-starter with a nurturing heart and positive attitude. The right candidate for this position will understand the importance of learning through play as it relates to child development. Our Preschool takes a Piaget-inspired approach to education which incorporates imaginative, pretending and dramatic play.
Pay is negotiable depending on experience and credentials.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plans lessons based on given curriculum and child development knowledge
- Oversees the growth and development of your group: Help implement their daily routine of feeding, naps, diapers; as well as music, art, and learning through play
- Engages in active care & play with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them
- Encourages curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the development levels of the children
- Works positively alongside other teachers
- Maintains open, friendly, and cooperative relationships with each child’s family and encourages their involvement in the program; Communicate with families and send them updates via our Brightwheel app.
- Demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
Education and Experience:
An associates degree in education or related field preferred but not required. If no degree is held, experience working with infants/toddlers or preschool children is a must.
