Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical development aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Lead classroom activities that support children’s growth in areas such as behavior management, classroom management, and childhood development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate Montessori methods, standard-based assessments, and innovative teaching strategies.
- Work directly with children to facilitate early intervention strategies, special education accommodations, and individualized learning plans.
- Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, cleanliness, and an engaging atmosphere conducive to active learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or student teachers while maintaining high standards of childcare and preschool experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including Montessori education principles.
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education strategies.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant for early learners and tutoring methods for foundational skills like math and physical education.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to create inclusive environments that respect diverse backgrounds and learning styles. - At least 3 credits in Early Childhood or Child Development or CDA Certification (Required)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
