Position Purpose
Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.

Position Purpose

What You Will Do
- Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
- Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
- Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are
- Collects non-covered fees
- Minimum High school or equivalent
- One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances
- Part time 24hrs on 3p-11:30p, three weekday evenings (set two week schedule). shift and weekend differentials will apply
- TRAINING/ORIENTATION IS M-F 8-4:30 FOR 2-3 WEEKS including time at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield
- 3rd week required for new hire with less than 1 year doing registration in a hospital
