Description
Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an experienced OB Tech to join the team on our Labor and Delivery floor! This person will have the opportunity to cross-train as an OB Technician.
Schedule: Part-time Night Shift (Monday-Friday) / Every other weekend and rotating holidays
20 hrs/week
The Unit Secretary will be responsible for the reception, communication, clerical activities and other related assigned duties of the unit, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities Include
- Offers assistance, handles inquiries and supplies information to physicians, visitors, patients and hospital personnel in a courteous professional manner.
- Answers the telephone promptly and professionally by giving proper identification of who is answering the telephone.
- Answers the patient call system promptly and courteously. Use the approved system for alerting staff of patient needs.
- Coordinates and processes efficiently the admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Enters departmental charges appropriately, accurately and efficiently.
- Assists in the orientation/training of new Unit Secretaries.
- Possesses good organizational skills and works in an organized manner.
- Charts reports promptly (x-ray reports, EKG reports). Maintains charts with adequate number of additional chart forms.
- Performs other related duties specific to unit as delegated by Nursing Unit Manager.
- Maintains policy and procedure manuals and Medical Dental roster book.
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred
- Computer literacy required.
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology desired.
- Good communication skills.
