Position Overview
The Hospice Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting the daily functions of the Scheduling Department, under the direction of Scheduling Manager. Supervises agency schedulers in their daily assignments. Oversee incoming referrals and coordinate the timely initiation of services. Supports the Schedulers in assigning clinicians, with clinician continuity and patient clinical needs the foremost priorities, to meet our referral sources’ and clients' expectations. May also provide multiple site Homecare and/or and Hospice support.

- Oversee scheduling processes by maintaining and updating in a shared file or program.
- Ensure scheduling is performed in accordance with defined policy and procedure.
- Assists in the identification, development, and implementation of new initiatives and process changes as
- assigned by scheduling manager.
- Assign preceptors to New Hires and assist with orientation/training.
- Maintains scheduling department calendar to ensure adequate daily staffing, including weekend and holiday coverage as well as assignment/management of PTO
- Facilitates team communication by responding to staff requests timely and appropriately.
- Coordinates scheduling/clinical team huddles to review pending admissions and clinical staffing ratios/volume.
- Supports implementation of scheduling cross-coverage between agencies.
- Oversee incoming referral flow and ensure the scheduling team coordinates the timely initiation of Homecare and Hospice service.
- Tracks ongoing performance issues and submits action plans to Scheduling Manager to resolve them.
- Supports Timely Initiation of care initiatives in ensuring SOCs/ROCs are scheduled in 48hrs.
- Covers scheduling team, when necessary, as identified by Scheduling Manager.
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors' degree preferred.
- 2-4 years' experience working in home care and/or hospice industry; scheduling experience required.
- Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of Medical Terminology.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Must possess excellent clear oral & written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
- Proficient in the use of scheduling software.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and accepts challenges to improve processes.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics and adhere to the Compliance Program.
