Position Summary
Southwest Medical Center is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our Laboratory team. This full-time day shift position offers the opportunity to work in a comprehensive hospital laboratory performing a wide range of diagnostic testing that supports patient care across multiple hospital departments and regional clinics.
Laboratory Overview
The laboratory provides a full spectrum of diagnostic testing, including:
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Serology
- Urinalysis
- Coagulation
- Blood Bank
- Molecular Testing
- Microbiology
Additional laboratory services include:
- Outpatient laboratory services Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Testing support for multiple partnered clinics throughout the surrounding communities
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Analyze and interpret test results accurately and efficiently.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
- Perform specimen collection and phlebotomy as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
- Communicate critical values and test results appropriately.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Required
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related laboratory field.
- Phlebotomy skills and willingness to perform specimen collection.
- Certification eligibility consistent with MT, MLT, or MLS practice standards.
