7:30am-4pm Mon-Fri
Pay: $18-$25
Brake Press Operator Summary
Responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
Brake Press Operator Primary Duties
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend sheet metal and plate to required dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings.
- Select proper tooling and machine settings for each job.
- Measure, inspect, and verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform adjustments, offsets, and program edits as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with company and OSHA
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Other duties as assigned
Brake Press Operator Qualifications
- Previous experience operating press brakes
- Above average math skills
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and bending characteristics
Minimum Experience and Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Requirements
Ability to be on your feet for multiple hours a day
Ability to lift 50 lbs. (maximum lifting requirement for MST)
Job requires walking, carrying, reaching, sitting, standing, use of hands (pushing/pulling)
