Overview
Trinity is recruiting for an established and growing local contractor that is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee the company's financial operations and lead its accounting department. This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and works directly with ownership to support operational growth, financial accountability, and long-term business success.
Position Summary
The Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for managing all accounting and financial functions of the company, overseeing accounting personnel, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing leadership with timely financial information and analysis. The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader who is comfortable managing daily accounting functions while helping guide strategic business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Management
• Oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping in QuickBooks
• Manage general ledger activity and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review journal entries
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
• Monitor company cash flow and banking activity
Accounting Department Leadership
• Manage and develop accounting team members
• Establish accountability and financial controls
• Improve accounting procedures and operational efficiency
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting throughout the organization
Payroll & Compliance
• Oversee payroll processing and reporting
• Coordinate tax preparation and tax compliance activities
• Work directly with outside CPAs and tax professionals
• Support insurance audits and regulatory requirements
Construction Accounting & Job Costing
• Manage job costing systems and reporting
• Monitor project profitability and financial performance
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Track labor, material, and overhead costs
Inventory & Purchasing Controls
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation
• Monitor material tracking and inventory accountability
• Support purchasing controls and financial oversight of materials
Leadership & Strategic Support
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to ownership
• Participate in leadership meetings and planning initiatives
• Coordinate with banks, attorneys, insurance providers, and outside advisors
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost control
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Strong accounting and financial management experience
• Previous experience supervising accounting personnel
• Experience with QuickBooks and construction accounting preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing and financial reporting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work closely with ownership and company leadership
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
