Job Description
The Field Technician is responsible for performing Engineering Compliance Management System (ECMS) updates in support of the sites Management of Change (MOC) program by field verifying the as-built condition of equipment, piping, and instrumentation. The primary objective of the Field Verification Specialist is to ensure the associated documentation reflects the as-built condition of the facility. Emphasis is placed on quality of the work product and the efficiency of work execution.
The Field Verification Specialist will report to a Project Lead who will establish clear expectations in terms of work quality, efficiency, and technical development.
To fulfill this role, the Field Technician will:
- Field verify plot plans, inspection isometrics, relief device/flare isometrics, electrical drawings, and piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs).
- Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) activities to confirm the as-built status of process equipment prior to startup
- Identify Condition Monitoring Locations (CMLs) to assist in maintaining the Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS)
- Acquire digital images of equipment (vessels, PSVs, instrumentation, piping, etc.) as needed
- Quality check and provide course correction to ensure timely closure of MOC Action Plans.
- Oversee and provide final deliverables to the project manager.
- Provide guidance to AutoCAD Technicians and communicate effectively with engineering personnel.
- Train, provide guidance to newer employees as necessary.
- Comply with all relevant safety procedures that govern the work being performed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Three years’ experience in a petrochemical plant or refinery
- Experience with P&IDs, piping isometrics, and plot plans
- Basic computer skills
- CAD skills are beneficial, but not required
- The ability to climb ladders and platforms up to 250 feet with a harness and lanyard
- The ability to work outdoors in warm, hot, and cold conditions
Location
The position will be full-time, on-site in a refinery setting, located in El Dorado, Kansas.
