Summary
The Staff Quality Engineer manages the relationship with internal and external teams to influence, drive quality standards and QA best practices, reduce time and cost to deliver high quality systems. Leads Business, Foundational, or Platform based initiatives spanning across applications, involving multiple integrations.
Demonstrates in-depth within a specific domain, product or service and knowledge across multiple domains, products, or services. Contributes to overall QA strategy. Plans, delivers, and manages QE services. Manages the development and implementation of technology quality assurance services to ensure products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of quality outcomes for technology services. Partners with Software Engineers to create and code tests concurrently with product development and deliver individual projects as necessary.

- Partners to ensure alignment of services on QA demand plans and services.
- Provides recommendations for the transformation of QA services, enables adoption of and influences development practices to focus on quality at every stage of development methodology.
- Provides guidance for selection of vendors for agreed upon services and tools.
- Provides input into capital and expense budgets; ensures vendors deliver QA services within the budget.
- Reviews key metrics to assess and improve the delivery of services.
- Builds and implements new transformational initiatives across the enterprise.
- Drives continuous improvement, innovation, and lean thinking management techniques to drive efficiencies within the business units.
- Drives integration of various services through automation techniques to enable continuous feedback on quality of code and enable speed to market.
- Provides metrics and reporting to influence internal partners to meet quality standard.
- Leverages industry standards, best practices, and own judgment to determine solutions.
- Solves complex problems that do not have immediately known solutions, requiring analytical and at times “out of the box” thinking.
- Makes proactive decisions that define the direction of the project.
- Escalates and provides recommendation on issues to Technology Leadership.
- Works independently and seeks guidance and second opinions when needed.
- Communicates and collaborates with Technology leadership and external partners on status, issues, and decisions to influence outcomes.
- Translates technology concepts into clear, digestible business appropriate language: creates images, graphics or charts that provide exceptional clarity or add impact to otherwise complex material and package presentations concisely for Leadership.
- Leads meetings with partners to drive decisions.
- Interacts with peer group to drive out role & process best practices and influences and implements change.
- Mentors and trains new or lesser experienced team members.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Has 7 years of experience managing the testing process, with experience in working with globally distributed teams and vendor partners.
- Has 4 years of experience in managing testing using test engineering principles.
- Full SDLC and Agile development methodologies experience.
- Strong advocate and an experienced practitioner of Agile and/or Lean practices.
- Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Master’s Degree preferred.
