Ideal candidate will be a CPA with some public accounting experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER
- Oversee the activities of the accounting department to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee disbursement activities, including wire transfers.
- Oversee compliance with loan agreements.
- Oversee compliance with the financial reporting.
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Work with external income tax professionals.
- Establish and maintain systems and internal controls.
- Respond to the CEO and CFO as requested on special projects.
- Provide leadership to and ongoing development of staff.
- Manage employee benefits and payroll relationships.
- Manage all aspects of the QuickBooks accounting system.
- Accurately account for the investments and intercompany transactions.
- Communicate with others courteously and professionally.
- Adhere to all regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTROLLER
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in public accounting.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
- Financial analysis and cash management preferred.
- QuickBooks experience a plus.
- Real estate experience a plus but not required.
- Outstanding attention to detail and highly organized.
- Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build strong relationships with co-workers, outside consultants, and others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Stable job record.
- Highest level of integrity.
- Team player.
Target salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 DOE. Discretionary bonus potential and some top-of–the- line benefits!
