Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:
Assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of housekeeping and facility maintenance. General maintenance duties include the repair of the facility and the associated systems. You will perform preventive maintenance and routine maintenance on equipment. Maintain inventory records for equipment, tools, and supplies.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the facility manager in the investigation of accidents / injuries within the department, including timely documentation of any department injuries or unsafe working conditions.
- Adhere to organizational safety requirements (personal protective equipment, etc.).
- Monitor facility housekeeping / department organization within scope of responsibility.
- As part of normal maintenance routine, conduct regular inspection tours of the facility to detect existing or potential accidents and / or health hazards. Where applicable, determine corrective or preventive actions, alert facility manager and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Assist facility manager to document findings related to facility housekeeping tours
- Maintain an accident prevention attitude among all personnel.
- Adhere to all established TRIM-LOK / RTP Inc., Human Resources requirements for personnel training and development.
- Ability to work with MES and ERP systems as required.
- Ability to work with Limble workorder system.
- Must have ability to work with convention mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
- Capable of working independently (minimal supervision).
- Assume ownership of assigned equipment within the scope of responsibility.
- Welding with MIG, TIG and STICK Welding
- Work forty hours a week M-F, with possible overtime and some Saturdays.
- Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Electrical troubleshooting and basic schematic reading.
- Perform regular and preventive maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
- Perform changeovers in an efficient and timely manner.
- Initiate purchase of required tools, parts, and materials and maintain accountability for tools issued.
- Make recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications, as well as mechanical safety procedures.
- Perform all work in accordance with GMP's, housekeeping, good safety practices, and environmental regulations.
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on equipment, plans for and takes corrective action.
- Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, performs equipment change overs or performs scheduled maintenance and closes workorders in Limble.
- Tests equipment to check operation, tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime and closes work order in Limble.
- Examine defects and analyzes, where possible, take corrective action; analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily shift report utilizes Limble work order system to manage work day.
- Notifies manager of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
- Maintenance and repair of facility and grounds.
- Rigging and moving equipment.
- Forklift certified
- Installation of equipment and fixtures.
- Repair and maintenance of building (painting, door, hole patching, filter changes, etc..).
- Light fabrication and construction.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of maintenance shop.
- Adheres to all safety and quality procedures/regulations.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Basic computer skills as needed (i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Forklift certified
- 3 to 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must possess good reading, writing and math skills.
- Must always be safety conscious.
- Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.
- Must have prior safety training to include lockout/tag out, electrical hazards, proper lifting techniques, etc.
- Good Communication Skills (Verbal & Written).
- Bilingual preferred
- Operation of shop equipment experience.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet schedules.
- Capable of working independently.
- Problem solving where development of new solutions, methods, and systems will result in a major impact on the company’s success.
- Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma.
- Technical certificate
