Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and food processors safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly in accordance with hygiene standards
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow proper food handling procedures to uphold food safety regulations and prevent contamination
- Aid in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during meal preparation
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices is highly desirable
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards in production environments
- Strong understanding of food safety management, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Experience with knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence to ensure quality meal preparation
