What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Trifecta Solar?
Location: Manheim, PA
Role Overview
Trifecta Solar is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator to manage the critical administrative lifecycle of our solar installations. You will bridge the gap between sales and construction by facilitating the permitting, utility interconnection, and the project registration and closeout processes. This role is ideal for a "process junkie" who thrives on checklists and can navigate the bureaucracies of utility companies and local townships.
Key Responsibilities
- Permit Management: Prepare, submit, and track building and zoning permit applications across various Central PA municipalities. Maintain a database of local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
- Utility Interconnection: Manage the end-to-end interconnection process with utilities (PPL, Met-Ed, West Penn, Penelec, PECO, etc). Submit applications, track approval status, and ensure "Permission to Operate" (PTO) is secured post-install.
- SREC Registration: Register newly installed systems and other relevant agencies to ensure homeowners can participate in Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) markets.
- Project Scheduling: Coordinate installation dates between our field crews, subcontractors, and homeowners. Manage the calendar for township and utility inspections.
- Documentation & Closeout: Maintain clean project files. Compile and deliver "Closeout Packages" (warranties, manuals, and PTO docs) to customers upon completion.
- Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for utility engineers and municipal inspectors to resolve bottlenecks and keep projects moving.
- Monitoring: Check into monitoring portals to ensure existing customer’s systems are performing properly.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years in project coordination, loan processing, real estate, or construction administration. Direct solar experience is a major plus but not required if you are a fast learner.
- Software: Proficiency with CRM or Project Management tools and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, etc).
- Detail Obsession: Ability to spot a missing signature or an incorrect inverter size on a permit application before it gets rejected.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Lancaster/Manheim area and Central PA utility providers is preferred.
- Communication: Comfortable "nudging" utility representatives and township officials via phone and email with professional persistence, and keeping customers apprised of the project status.
