What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mixer Operator position at Trident Solutions?
The primary purpose of the position is the operation of the compounding mixing equipment to provide PVC compound material to the extrusion manufacturing department.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of quality control checks, achieving objectives of output, quality, and safety.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operation of compounding mixing equipment with little to no supervision.
- Follow the mixing recipe including weighing ingredients with a high degree of accuracy using gram and pound scales.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and communicate equipment issues to maintenance personnel.
- Meeting quality and production standards, minimizing scrap and downtime on designated shift.
- Performing quality checks on material, comparing actual results to specifications, and communicating results to the Compounding Process Technician and Shift Supervisor.
Key Competencies:
- Performing all job functions in a safe manner, follow and enforce all PRESCO policies and procedures.
- Leading housekeeping efforts and always maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Identifying and immediately communicating personnel and safety issues to the Shift Supervisor and assisting with investigations and resolutions of the issues if needed.
- Accurate and complete reporting of production and quality data both manually and in computer systems.
- Assisting the Compounding Process Technician with any assigned duties.
- Reporting any continuous improvement opportunities to the Shift Supervisor.
- Moving materials as needed using forklifts or overhead cranes.
