Day shift 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Job Summary: Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated production departments to maintain workflow efficiency. Operate forklifts and other power equipment in a safe, secure manner in compliance with OSHA & Trident Solutions regulations. Support shipping and receiving operations by loading/unloading trucks and verifying incoming shipments. Perform weekly cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Material Handler 1 Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and transport raw materials to designated production areas
- Supply production lines with materials according to schedules and work orders
- Remove finished goods and scrap from production areas
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory
- Stage materials for production, shipping, or secondary operations
- Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled material storage areas
- Identify material shortages, damage, or discrepancies and report them promptly
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
- Comply with all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Assist other Material Handlers as necessary
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Competencies:
- Performing all job functions in a safe manner, following, and enforcing all TRIDENT policies and procedures.
- Basic computer skills, knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
- Leading housekeeping efforts and always maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Identifying and immediately communicating personnel and safety issues to the Shift Supervisor and assisting with investigations and resolutions of the issues if needed.
- Communicating and working with Material Handlers to ensure an appropriate quantity and quality of raw materials is delivered to the lines as needed.
- Performing quality checks on material, comparing actual results to specifications, and communicating results in a timely manner.
- Accurate and complete reporting of production and quality data both manually and in computer systems.
- Reporting any continuous improvement opportunities to the Shift Supervisor.
Preferred Requirements:
- 2-years manufacturing experience, or equivalent
- Flexible
- Excellent safety and attendance record.
- Possesses good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work 8/ hour shifts, and report on time for scheduled shifts and follow company attendance policies.
- Possesses strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Possesses basic knowledge in math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Possesses intermediate computer skills.
- Understands production rates and production schedules.
- Ability to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with little or no supervision and maintain a working and up-to-date knowledge of products and services.
- Must be able to handle yourself in a professional manner with internal & external people.
- Ability to take responsibility for self and team.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to dusty or dirty ambient conditions.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to hot or cold ambient conditions.
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to mild chemical irritants.
- Excellent forklift skills with the ability to safely move pallets of material into storage racks.
