- PURPOSE
- POSITION SUMMARY
- RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Perform fit-up and alignment on structural module components including bulkheads, decks, and structural foundations.
- Execute weld edge prep, grinding, and tack welds to support schedule and inspection requirements.
- Support NDT preparation and VT readiness for hold points with QC personnel.
- Interpret and execute structural drawings, sketches, and work instructions accurately.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment including alignment tooling.
- Perform work safely in all shipbuilding environments including heights, confined spaces, and dry-dock conditions.
- EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 4–7 years structural fitting experience in shipbuilding or heavy industrial fabrication required.
- Ability to read and interpret NAVSEA/NNS shipbuilding drawings and visual work instructions required.
- Experience with structural fitting equipment including torches, grinders, clamps, and rigging tools.
- Physical ability to kneel, squat, crawl, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs required.
- Ability to work assigned shift schedules including overtime and off-shift assignments supporting schedule priorities.
- Must be able to obtain respirator qualification and pass Physical Agility Test.
- Ability to work safely in extreme temperatures, heights, and confined spaces.
- CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining OSHA 10 Maritime, Confined Space, Firewatch, and Hot Work certification.
- Must be capable of obtaining tack-weld qualification if required by module work scope.

- Ensure work is compliant with engineering drawings and NAVSEA/NNS acceptance criteria.

- Execute work in accordance with schedule-driven priorities and TIGER Team direction.
Salary : $29 - $40
