Summary:

Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the physical upkeep and daily operations of buildings, grounds and equipment. Working alongside the Facility Manager, they manage maintenance personnel, schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime, repairs inactive equipment, coordinate with external vendors, and ensure all safety and regulatory codes are met. The FMS maintains records, supervises maintenance personnel, oversees subcontracted personnel and vendors, and trains maintenance technicians. The FMS will be professional, customer-focused and able to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Facility Manager to conduct and coordinate Trident Maritime Systems – Hampton’s facilities.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure that the company and its subcontractors are compliant with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Assists in the training managers, employees, and new hires in electrical safety practices and procedures.
  • Performs and supervises preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and maintenance of facility grounds.
  • Team Leader in the recruiting, training, and professional development of maintenance technicians.
  • Assists the Facility Manager in the development and adherence to departmental budget, track spending and source/management of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Oversee external contractors or vendors during specialized projects.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, equipment inspections and repair costs.
  • Completes regular, routine checks and surveillance of buildings and systems to ensure everything is well-maintained.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests or issues.
  • Assists in the execution and management of Environmental programs and requirements.
  • Ensures supply inventory, tracking and ordering necessary parts, tools, and maintenance materials as needed.
  • Balance short-term facility maintenance goals and objectives with long-term effectiveness.
  • Communicate clearly with executives and employees regarding building activities and problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications/Skills:


  • Ability to use various hand tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft products including moderate Excel capabilities.
  • General knowledge and understanding of OSHA 1910 Standard and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Working knowledge of SDS sheets.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • 5-10 years of proven facility experience in commercial or industrial electrical maintenance.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces or outdoors; must be physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting equipment.
  • A thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures along with a skill set that includes basic proficiency in some or all of the following: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting of mechanical systems and machinery, and fluid systems.
  • Understanding and experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair.


Additional Requirements:


  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • High School diploma or GED. Completion of a electrical apprenticeship or technical trade school program.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment.
  • Preventive Maintenance and Repair training
  • Hazwoper Certificate (desired but not required)
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Training (desired but not required)
  • OSHA 10 Certification (desired but not required)
  • Valid First Aid and/or AED certification (desired but not required)
