Summary
Seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with 5–7 years of experience to provide technical leadership and project support for Transmission, Substation, and Distribution infrastructure projects. The role involves civil engineering design oversight, contractor management, permitting coordination, field support, QA/QC reviews, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering activities across project lifecycle including scoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project management, construction, environmental, and real estate teams.
- Conduct field visits/job walks and provide engineering construction support for Transmission, Substation, and Distribution facilities.
- Manage civil engineering consultants by defining scope, reviewing proposals, ensuring quality, and maintaining schedules.
- Perform QA/QC reviews for consultant deliverables, peer reviews, purchase order management, and invoice approvals.
- Coordinate permitting activities and secure approvals from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Manage multiple project schedules, monitor budgets, and communicate proactively with stakeholders.
- Promote and integrate safety-first practices into engineering designs and field activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 5–7 years of civil engineering experience.
- Strong experience in:
- Civil engineering project execution
- Design coordination
- Construction support
- Cost estimation and scheduling
- Consultant/contractor management
- QA/QC review processes
- Permitting and regulatory compliance
- Cross-functional coordination
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with land development for electrical substations and transmission access roads.
- Familiarity with road/highway design.
- Experience supporting storm damage response and mitigation.
- Knowledge of California permitting processes.
- Experience managing purchase orders and contractor oversight.
- Experience with ArcGIS.
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Work Environment
- Hybrid work model – 2 days onsite at Innovation Village, Pomona, CA.
- Field engagement required approximately 1–2 days per week depending on business needs.
- Background check required.
