Job Title: Civil Engineer-Land Development

Location: Pomona, CA (Hybrid 2 days onsite)

Type of Hire: Contract

Duration: 16 Months

Pay rate: $100/hr to $111/hr on W2 (All inclusive)

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

Required Experience & Skills:

• 8 years of civil land development experience (mandatory)

• California PE license in Civil Engineering (mandatory)

• Strong technical leadership across project phases including scoping, design, cost estimating, scheduling, and construction support

• Experience providing construction field support, conducting job walks, and contractor oversight

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam

• Experience with QA/QC, permitting, consultant management, and project scheduling

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead civil engineering activities for transmission, substation, and distribution projects

• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external agencies

• Conduct field visits/job walks and provide construction engineering support

• Manage consultant scopes, proposals, schedules, quality reviews, purchase orders, and invoices

• Support permitting and regulatory compliance activities

• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communication

• Promote and maintain a safety-first culture in office and field environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting electrical utility projects (substation and transmission)

• Familiarity with road/highway design and storm damage response

• Experience managing contractors and consultant teams

• Knowledge of California permitting processes

• Experience with ArcGIS

Work Environment:

• Hybrid schedule – onsite Wednesdays and Thursdays at Pomona Innovation Village office

• Up to 25% travel within SCE service territory; overnight travel may be required
