Title: Environmental Health & Safety Specialist II

Location: 2820 Empire Avenue Burbank, CA 91504

Duration: 1 year contract on W2

Rate: $31.25/hr on W2

Shift Schedule: M-F 8am to 5pm

• Conduct new hire training

• Conduct EHS training, audits/assessments for JSA, LOTO, PPE, and other safety requirements

• Organize and run safety committee meetings

• Support in the approval of work permits to employees and contractors

• Manage the maintenance of emergency and fire protection equipment (hoses, fire extinguishers, spill kit, etc.)

• Help exceed site goals, near misses, and safety observation reports by administering the program

• Assist with 6S documentation and audits

• Conduct emergency drills

• Update site communication boards daily/weekly/monthly

• Conduct industrial hygiene sampling

• Maintain chemical inventory system (HMM)

• Support PSSRs and MOCs

• Incident reporting – enter data into safety management system, liaise with corporate EHS, lead investigations and root cause analysis

• Environmental compliance – enter data into the safety management system to ensure compliance with various agencies

• Act with safety and actively look for risk reduction opportunities

• Shop floor presence and engagement

• Minimum education: High School Graduate

• Operations experience/EHS experience preferred

• Interface with multi-layers of the plant organization

• Knowledge of lab activities workflow

• Basic knowledge of EHS MS and requirements

• Demonstrates PPG Way and PPG Way to Lead

• Strong safety mindset

• Promote positive work environment and safe behaviors

• Leadership skills to drive safety culture
